A charity project spanning decades

 

Initially this book of verse was to be entitled ‘Laughter is the Best Medicine’ or words to that effect. But Author and Palliative Care Nurse Monica Foster soon realised however that there is a lot more humour in life than simply in the health profession. With that in mind the title became ‘The Funny Side of Life’.

The meaning of the word ‘funny’ ranges from humorous to bizarre or unusual to crazy and I tried to capture that spirit in this 'little' book of over 100 illustrated pages. This was a personal love project as Monica was one of the nurses who cared for my father during his battle with cancer and one of the poems in this book was about my family.

This publication is currently being sold to raise funds for the Little Haven Palliative Care unit in Gympie.
